YouTube is a video sharing site originally created independently in 2005, but then got bought out by Google in 2006. It reached a peak of 2 billion video views per day.

Enshittification

If you were thinking of joining YouTube, good! Join it early and promote the site. Just make sure that they don't start enshittifying the platform. hmm... do you people from the 90s actually know what that means? that word, "enshittification"? i'm not sure.
